At this time (March 24) the Northeast regional event has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope to reschedule it later. Watch the 2020 Regional Meetings page for updates, or contact UALE NE Regional coordinator Sarah Hughes.
In anticipation of the important elections in Fall of 2020, United Association for Labor Education (UALE) will host a one and a half day Northeast regional training and exchange in April 2020. The event is to be focused on sharing curriculum and best practices on popular and political education for labor, with the understanding that this work must center racial, gender, and economic justice.
UALE seeks proposals from labor union, university, and community practitioners in the Northeast United States for teaching demonstrations, presentations on training programs, roundtable discussions, and research sessions, in English and Spanish, for Friday afternoon and Saturday event times. Friday afternoon will also include a train-the-trainer session on popular education techniques, for new and experienced educators alike.
The event will take place Friday, April 24 (1/2 day) and Saturay, April 25 (full day) at CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies, New York, NY.
