 <description>&lt;p&gt;At our annual membership meeting, which took place during the conference in San Diego, UALE members voted in new leadership and approved a number of measures that will guide our work in upcoming months.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Sue Schurman and Kent Wong win UALE Achievement Awards</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Sue Schurman, Rutgers, won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the UALE Conference in San Diego this year, and Kent Wong, UCLA, won the award for Outstanding Contribution to the field of Labor Education.&lt;/p&gt;

The award for Outstanding Contribution to the Field of Labor Education for 2008 went to Judy Ancel. Bill Fletcher and Fernando Gapasin have won the Best Book Award.
