Description: 

Summary of Curriculum: This workshop focuses on the IMF, World Bank, structural adjustment, and neoliberalism. It identifies the governing institutions of the global economy, their corporate agenda, and how they disrupt third world societies, driving migration. Particularly useful charts include:
-Who makes the rules?
-How the global South finances the world economy
-Corporations: getting bigger than nations
-Globalization and racism
-Women and structural adjustment

The best activities are:
Opening – check each others’ clothing labels
Video: Uprooted or Deadly Embrace (about structural adjustment and garment sweatshops in Nicaragua)
