The department’s purpose is to provide training programs designed to support the union’s work at the local, regional and national level. Department staff develop quality, innovative curricula and motivate union members to take greater control of their working lives by creating a stronger, more effective union.

The department provides a wide range of training, including officer, steward, contract campaign and organizing. The department also provides training programs for union staff and leadership.
