The Holt Labor Library, founded in 1992, is an independent non-profit labor and radical history library located on the campus of New College of California School of Law. The library_s collection includes books, current and historical periodicals, pamphlets, videos, audio tape, and archives.  A significant part of the collection contains out-of-print, rare, and other difficult to find materials.

The materials in the library chronicle the history of the struggle to organize trade unions, oppose wars, fight for civil rights, and save the environment. The library exists, not only to preserve knowledge and make it available to scholars, but to inform and engage union members, other working people, activists, the unemployed, youth, and other under-represented communities.  We have a professionally trained librarian who provides on-site, telephone, and email reference service. The library is open to the public, by appointment, five days a week.

Holt Labor Library maintains a web site to provide assistance to remote users. As well as describing the library and its services, our web site has links to our online library catalog, exhibits, and bibliographies. It also provides links to online labor and left periodicals, labor law, occupational health, current labor and alternative news sources, and many other relevant web sites.
