Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE)
CUPE’s Union Development Department (UDD) works in education, engagement, and mobilization. The UDD program is supported by a national team of staff and member facilitators. CUPE workshops are available in French and English.
UDD provides a contemporary, comprehensive national education program that is available to CUPE’s over 650,000 members. Workshops are based on a popular education model using an equity lens and a class lens.
While there is an extensive education program, the core program includes:
- Collective Bargaining
- Health and Safety
- Local Executive Training Program
- Steward Learning Series
- Duty to Accommodate
- Human Rights
- Financial Officers
UDD operates an Ombudsperson Program for CUPE National Events, coordinates a literacy program, and assists with staff training.
